French singer releases new McCartney song next week

French-British singer Charlotte Gainsbourg will release a new McCartney song next week, Friday Nov. 17. The track Songbird in a Cage will appear on her new album Rest, which will be out on that day. The new song was given to Charlotte Gainsbourg after she had lunch with Paul McCartney, six years ago.
I asked him, and he sent this song. It was so generous and I didn’t even had an album to put it on.
It took Gainsbourg six years to make a new album and use the new song Songbird In A Cage, because lately she was more focused on her other career, acting. She played in several films by Lars von Trier and also starred in Independence Day: Resurgence. Her new album Rest is her first studio album since IRM in 2010. In 2013, Gainsbourg recorded with Beck a cover version of the Jimi Hendrix song Hey Joe.
